Dress Code:
1) You are advised to come to work dressed according to your salary.
2) If we see you wearing Prada shoes and carrying a Gucci bag, we will assume you are doing well financially

Sick Days:
We will no longer accept a doctor's statement as proof of sickness. If you are able to go to the doctor, you are able to come to work.
Personal Days:
Each employee will receive 104 personal days a year.
They are called Saturdays & Sundays.  
Bereavement Leave:
This is no excuse for missing work. There is nothing  you can do for dead friends, relatives or co-workers. Every effort should be made to have non-employees attend the funeral arrangements in your place. In rare cases where employee involvement is necessary, the funeral should be scheduled in the late afternoon. We will be glad to allow you to work through your lunch hour and subsequently leave one hour early.
Bathroom Breaks:

* Normal size people get 15 minutes for lunch to get a balanced meal to maintain their average figure.
* Chubby people get 5 minutes for lunch, because that's all the time needed to drink a Slim-Fast.

My, how time flies. Seems just like yesterday that I was a 12 year old kid, going for long bike rides in Sherwood Forrest, the subdivision just around the corner from where I lived. Playing with William, Edward, and my little brother, climbing in the tree house, looking forward to Brent coming over to visit. Those were all good times and my only dread was finding out that we were having liver for supper.

By the time I was 22, I knew who I wanted to marry, was in the process of quitting college, going into debt, and thought that I would be a millionaire by the time I was 30 because I was so smart. Hey, it might take me until 35, but that was the top end. In reality, I was quite ignorant.

Chekkalu Recipe

Chekkalu is a popular snack of AndhraPradesh,India . And here is a simple recipe and pictures shared by my sis-in law Madhavi. Try and enjoy this snack with a cup of coffee.

Ingredients:

1. Rice flour – 1cup
2. Fried chana dal (putani) – 1/4cup
3. Chana dal (soaked for 30 min) – 1 tsp
4. Green chillies - 3
5. Salt to taste
6. Curry leaves – few
7. Ajwain – 1tsp
8. Butter – 1tsp

Method:
* Grind the green chillies into a fine paste.
* Grind the fried chana dal into a smooth powder.
* Mix all the above ingredients along with the green chilli paste into a thick dough by adding water.The consistency should be like shown in the picture below (not too watery).
* Make small round balls of the dough and press them on a greased plastic sheet with your fingers ,make small round sized puris(need not worry about the shape).
* Deep fry in oil on medium flame till golden brown.

Moogha Gathi (Sprouted Moong Curry)

Mooga gaati is a dish with sprouted moong and coconut paste prepared in Goa. Its almost same as mooga randayi  but it has sweetish taste due to jaggery. There are many versions of gaati and this is one of them.

This dish is like a gravy. Not dry. Also when you let it sit in the pan you will not see any water colleting on top. So it is not too watery like dal. It is served as a side dish and it mainly prepared in almost all hindu households during Ganesh Festival as the meals are only veg.

Ingredients:
1 cup sprouted moong
1/2 cup coconut
5-6 curry leaves
2 green chilies
1 red chili
4-5 black pepper
1/2 tsp coriander seeds
A pinch turmeric
1/2 – 1 tsp jaggery
2 pieces of kokum
Oil
A pinch asafetida
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
Salt

Method:
Wash sprouted moong. Cook them in enough water.
Heat a little oil and add slitted green chilies. When they are fried, take out and add pepper, coriander seeds. Grind with coconut, turmeric, red and green chilies.
Add the paste to cooked moong, add jaggery, kokum, salt. Cook.
Heat oil. Add mustard seeds. When they start popping, add asafoetida and curry leaves. Pour the seasoning over the dish.
Serve hot as a side dish with rice and dal/gravy.

Serves : 2-3
Preparation time : 30mins

MIT Students Take Space Photos on $150 Budget.

Two MIT students have successfully photographed the earth from space on a strikingly low budget of $148. Perhaps more significantly, they managed to accomplish this feat using components available off-the-shelf to the average layperson, opening the doors for a new generation of amateur space enthusiasts. The pair plan to launch again soon and hope that their achievements will inspire teachers and students to pursue similar endeavors.
