Dear Asha Patrons,

Work an Hour; Change a Life! The support that Asha provides for the education of underprivileged children means so much more than just putting students in school. It is about giving them hope for a better future. In fact, in most instances, it is their only hope for a better future. Donate an hour before September 30th and help us give these kids an opportunity for a better life. Please show us your support today.

During the past 10 weeks, we have showcased 13 projects in India that are doing enormous service to empower underprivileged children in India. Thanks to many generous donors, we have raised more than $93,000 so far. But we are still short of our target of $150,000 and we need your help. It takes as little as $35 (Rs.1750) on average to support the education of one child for an year in our 2012 Work an hour projects. As we are in the last three days of our campaign, we are aiming for 1000 donors target.

The problem of illiteracy of more than 100 million children (UNESCO report) can not be solved by a few of us. Please open your generous hearts to our children and donate an hour to rid India of illiteracy.

Dear Friends...

Dear Friends,

I strongly believe that education has the power to create the next big revolution in India. Last 6-7 years I am working with a non-profit Asha for Education which supports such projects. This year I am working with a dedicated group of volunteers in a campaign focused on Children with special needs, Rural education and Education of Urban Slums.

It will mean a lot to me if you can check the website www.workanhour.org and contribute any amount (does not have to be one hr salary!). Work-An-Hour Campaign ends in 5 days (Sep 30) and we are trying to raise funds enough to support more than 4000 students from 13 projects for a year. Out of $150K target, we already raised $80K and need your help to reach closer to the goal. Donation Links (CC, paypal, India NEFT) are located at http://www.ashanet.org/workanhour/current/donate/donate.php Even if you like & share this message it will help us reach more people and bring more smiles back to underprivileged children in India.

Thank You for your support!!!!

Please Act Now! Last 5 days of Work-An-Hour

Dear Asha Patrons,

"Work An Hour" campaign of Asha is all about a number of small contributions coming together to make a large impact. This is a platform where eveyone in the society can contribute in what ever small way they can to bring about real changes in India. Every contribution, small or large, counts towards bringing a better future for the underprivileged kids in India. We are into our last week of campaign and we are significantly short of our target. Extend your support to us today and give an underprivileged child in India the gift of education.

With the help of generous donors like you, we have raised over $80,000 and aim for a 1000-donor target. Please help us keep the promise we made to 4300 students and voice your support Today!

Dear Asha Patrons,

We have spoken enough about the societal problems in today's India. Corruption, illiteracy, poverty .... the list goes on. It's about time we did something to change it. We at Asha are working to address the issue of illiteracy. Come support us in educating the underprivileged children in India.

One hour of your salary in 2012 is all we ask from you. Give them their childhood they rightfully deserve today, so they can contribute positively to society tomorrow. Please voice your support Today!

Dear Asha Patrons,

On July 15, as we embarked on 'Work an Hour' campaign for the 15th time, we made a promise to 4,300 underprivileged children in India, to keep them in school. When deprived of an opportunity to be in school, in the absence of a minimum wage policy and lack of enforcement of the Child Labor policy, such children shoulder burden, earn less than $1 (~Rs.30) per day, and are abused by society.

At Asha, we believe that we have a responsibility to protect and educate girls; support children with special needs, and bring opportunities to children in urban slums. As our campaign draws to a close in two weeks, we have raised more than $60,000 from 400+ donors. But to reach our target of $150,000, we need your active support.

One hour of your salary in 2012 is all we ask from you. Give them their childhood they rightfully deserve today, so they can contribute positively to society tomorrow. Please support Today!

Dear Asha Patrons,

According to the World Bank and Harvard University study, on any given day, 25% of teachers in India are absent in schools, with the rate being as high as 42% in poorer states. As India prepares to celebrate another Teacher's Day on September 5th, it should serve as a reminder to all of us who had the opportunity to be educated that 43% primary schools in India have a teacher-student ratio of 1:40 or worse, against the mandated ratio of 1:30.

An important aspect in getting children to school is to first get teachers to attend school. For more than 20 years now, Asha for Education has not only strived to put the underprivileged children in schools, but has also constantly supported the teachers by providing them with adequate training, innovative teaching material and salaries so they are motivated to attend school and educate children in our projects.

Most teachers in primary schools earn $50 or less per month. On September 5th this year, celebrate the nobility of teachers and repay your teachers for their hard work by donating an hour of your salary to WAH.

"A child miseducated is a child lost."  Help us give the under-privileged children in India better hope for the future. Donate Now during our "Work an Hour" campaign. On an average one hour of your salary is all it takes to keep a child in school!

Warm Regards
